What it is

Somewhere to putwhat you’re carrying.

A post on Burdn is called a Burdn. It can be something you’ve held onto for years, or something that happened this morning.

Other people read it and reply — to what you wrote, not to who you are. Your real account identity, including your email, is never shown to other people on Burdn.

Why it exists

Telling a friend changes the friendship. Posting it changes how people see you.

Saying it to no one doesn’t help much either. Burdn sits in between: a place to be honest, and to hear back from people with no stake in who you are.

How it works

  1. Write it.

Say the thing you haven’t said, in your own words — a few lines or a full page.

  2. Say what would help.

To be heard, advice, comfort, a reality check — or nothing at all. People know how to show up before they reply.

  3. Hear back.

It’s posted under a persona, never your name. Replies come from people, not an audience that knows you.

Who it’s for

Anyone who hastyped somethingand deleted it.

You don’t need to be going through something big. The thought you keep circling back to, the thing you wish you’d said, the good news you have no one to tell.

Burdn is for adults: you need to be 18 or older to use it.

What it isn’t

Not social media.

No profile to build and no audience to grow. A place to say something and be heard.

Not therapy.

Nor a crisis service. If you or someone else may be in immediate danger, contact your local emergency services first. Crisis lines are on our support page.

Why it’s different

Anonymous, not lawless. Reporting and blocking are built in.
